My Mercury Villager has started to shake when I'm stopped at a light. Would this be the brakes?

I know a pick-up truck that does this. It's not brakes, as the first answer said. I agree that it is probably the engine. What I do in the truck when this happens is give it a little gas with your foot on the brake at the same time, but then you risk burning rubber...
