Husband wants to leave?

my husband hit me last week and the police were involved. there was an AVO put out against him by the police. I stated i allowed him to come home. he didnt for a week because he listened to his mum, and in the end he came to hospital to me because i was righed to emergancy from a hemmorage. there i begged him to come back home because i missed him, after hours of begging and consultations with his mum he came back. he made me feel like hes the victim and made me feel bad for calling the police but besides that all went well. today was the AVO hearing. he got 12 months behaviour bond and AVO which i tried to decrease but couldnt. he told me if the avo wasnt dropped he wil leave me, despite all else going well. After court he told me he loves me but wants to leave me because i didnt do anything about the avo and he cant live with me knowing he has that against me. we have a 5 week old baby, i dont want him to leave because he actually is a good guy when hes normal. idk what to do. i even rang to book us for couples councelling. iv tried my all. whats can you advise wihout a separation?
