Wittiness & Fast Talking?

So if you've seen Gilmore Girls. I'm like Rory and Lorelai. I talk fast and I make witty remarks. I was just wondering if this is a turn off or not. Just in general. I'm in high school. Sometimes I talk so fast that people can't understand what I'm saying but that doesn't happen much. And also I make a lot of references that people my age don't get. I've said things like "Did anyone ever think that maybe Sylvia Plath wasn't crazy, she was just cold." And most people are like who? I've referenced Ayn Rand, the North Pacific Gyre, Bud Fox, all kinds of people/places, but only adults know what I'm talking about. I seem to talk on a more adult level. I'm wondering if high schoolers would think this was strange. There's one guy in my English cl who talks as fast as I do--practically the male me--and he gets picked on a lot.
