Does anyone have any tips for caring for a new RES or Red Eared Slider Turtle?

it seems like your pretty much set. don't handle him a lot at first it can cause him to get sick. he is very stressed right now. also small turtles are prone to eye infections so check his eyes regularly it also may not be a bad idea to have some meds on hand for him. also ALWAYS WASH YOUR HANDS!!! for both you and him... before and after handling him. he can make you very sick, small turtles can carry salmonella.
